My experience renting a MOTORCYCLE in Mallorca

I‘ll tell you how it went renting a scooter at the airport of Palma de Mallorca and everything I discovered in my search.

I love the islands, whenever I can (and my little kids let me) I escape for a weekend.

When I go to the Balearic Islands I always rent a motorcycle at the airport, for me it is the most comfortable and I will tell you why.

I have also done it in Ibiza and Menorca.

Why do I think that renting a motorcycle in Mallorca is the best option to get to know the island?

The island of Mallorca is a paradise. It is one of my favorite places in the world.

It is almost perfect, and most of its drawbacks disappear in one fell swoop if you get around on a motorcycle.

My reasons for renting a motorcycle in Mallorca are the following:

• In Mallorca the traffic is complicated in summer (and more and more during the rest of the year), the accesses to the coves and main cities are usually collapsed, so moving by motorcycle can give you a lot of extra time every day.
• In Mallorca we go to enjoy the good weather, its coves and its atmosphere. Feeling the wind on your face, smelling the saltpeter while carrying a towel and flip-flops is priceless.
• Parking becomes an impossible task. Renting a motorcycle in Palma guarantees you to park literally wherever you want, without fear of fines.
• The most popular coves (and unfortunately almost all of them lately), fill up quickly. As soon as the parking is full you will not be able to access them. You can forget about this problem if you go by motorcycle.
• Finally, renting a motorcycle in Mallorca will be cheaper than renting a car, not only because of the price of the vehicle, but also because of the gasoline and the price you will save in parking.

What type of motorcycle to rent in Mallorca?

I love old motorcycles.

Large motorcycles.

Motorcycles with gears.

But in Mallorca you have to rent scooters.

You can rent other motorcycles, and in fact later I will give you some options, but the most comfortable is to go by scooter.

You can carry your towel and everything you need for the beach comfortably under the seat, and store your helmet when you get to a cove. They are easier to ride and you can park them literally anywhere.

Where to rent a motorcycle on the island of Mallorca?

Most of the motorcycle rental agencies operating in Mallorca have their main office in Palma, however, they have branches in all these locations:

• Palma Airport: probably the best option to rent a scooter. That’s what I did. I found the best prices of the whole island at the airport.
• In Palma: it is where you have the most motorcycle rental stores. If you are going to stay in the capital and move from there, this is your preferred option.
• Puerto de Pollensa: in this tourist area in the north of the island you also have many options to rent a motorcycle.
• Port de Soller: in this town in the west of the island you have some options for scooter rentals.
• Alcúdia: you have plenty of motorcycle rental stores.
• In Can Picafort I will also give you some very good options to rent motorcycles.
• Cala Ratjada is another place where it will be easy to rent.
• Cala Millor is one of the places with the highest concentration of scooter rental stores in Mallorca.
• In Cala D’Or you can rent without any problem.

Options for renting a motorcycle at Palma de Mallorca airport

First I’ll tell you what I did.

I was going on a weekend trip, so I rented a scooter right off the plane at the airport.

We only had two backpacks so we didn’t need to go to the hotel first to drop off our bags.

At the airport of Palma you can rent a motorcycle in these places:

• Mister Scooter: you will find them on the fourth floor of the parking lot outside the airport. They have 49 cc scooters, 125 cc scooters and electric scooters. For 22 euros per day you have your 125 scooter with everything included. They have their main office in the center of Palma and can pick you up for free at the airport (best option if you have luggage and are staying in Palma).
• Ride On: for a supplement of 15 € they take the scooter to the airport, as their store is in Palma. From 13 euros per day you have a 125 cc electric scooter. It is the cheapest price to rent a scooter in Mallorca.
• Ok Mobility: you can rent your scooter at Palma airport with Ok Mobility for 16 euros per day with a helmet and insurance included.

Scooter rental options in Palma

In Palma is where you have more options to rent a motorcycle, it is the biggest city of Mallorca and its capital.

• Cooltra: they have presence in all the Balearic Islands, and of course in Palma. They are on the beach of Palma. For 23 euros a day you have your 125 cc scooter all inclusive. They also have offices in the port of Palma, in the center and in Cala d’Or.
• Renta Bike: if you want to rent a motorcycle with a lot of personality, this is your place. They have Harley-Davidson, Ducatis, BMW, even quads. They also have scooters by the way. On: they are also on other islands. You can rent a Vespa in Mallorca for 37 euros per day.
• Vintage Motors: they have scooters, vespas and motorcycles (Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, Moto Guzzi and Honda). From 30 euros a day you can rent a Vespa Primavera 125 cc. They are also in Alcúdia.
• Rental Motorbike: they are in Palma, Alcúdia and Santa Ponsa. They have a wide variety of scooters. The cheapest option is to rent a scooter for 24 euros per day.
• Momoven: they are dedicated to rent different motorcycles, although they are also more expensive. They are motorcycles from individuals who rent them to you by the day. You can find from a BMW F800 GS to a Royal Enfield Himalayan.
• Motoraz: in Plaza de España you can rent a scooter from 22 euros per day. You have to pay a deposit of 200 € although this is the usual in any rental.
• Loco Wheels: from 40 euros per day you can rent a vintage 125 cc scooter.

Rent a motorcycle in Alcúdia

• Vintage Motors
• Rental Motorbike
• Enjoy Rent: rent bikes and scooters. From 35 euros per day you can rent a scooter in Alcúdia.

Rent a motorcycle in Puerto de Pollensa

If you are staying in Puerto de Pollensa you don’t have to worry about it. You can leave your suitcases at your accommodation and rent a motorcycle here to move around the rest of the island.

• Procycling Motorbike: they have 50cc, 125cc and 300cc scooters. Prices start at 26 euros per day.

Motorcycle rental options in Can Picafort

• Most Wanted Motorcycles has a large presence on the island of Mallorca. They have offices in Inca and Can Picafort but can organize a getaway anywhere in Mallorca. Their forte is adventure motorcycles, but they also have scooters of various displacements.

Motorcycle rental in Cala Millor

If you are staying in Cala Millor I leave you some options to rent a motorcycle:

• Rent a Bike Sancho: from 28 euros per day you can rent a 50 cc scooter.
• Most Wanted Motorcycles

Motorcycles and quads rental if you stay in Cala Ratjada

• Rentabike Cristobal: from 24 euros per day you can rent a 125 cc scooter. They also rent bicycles and scooters. For the area, I found it to be a very cheap rental.
• Schulz Rent a Bike: they have a wide range of motorcycles for rent. Their prices are around 40 euros per day.

Best places to rent a scooter in Cala d’Or

Finally, I have searched for a selection of places to rent motorcycles in the area of Cala d’Or:

• Sprint Rentral: they have motorcycle rentals from 35 euros per day. They also rent quads and motorcycles.
• Motocity: they charge an excess of 250 euros when picking up the bike and they have scooters from 39 euros per day. I found them a bit expensive, to be honest.
